Hail To The Redskins

Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.!

Ok so I'm not much of a sports fan -- but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I like the Redskins. I may not be able to sit and pay attention to an entire football game -- but I'm always asking about the score. This Saturday Eric and I went to some friends house to watch the game and the last few minutes were great! I love that intensity. We won!

Switching gears.....

After the game Eric, John and I went to my brothers house to hang out. My little brother and his girlfriend just bought a house in this cute little neighborhood. I had the tour last Friday but Eric and John had not. Once there we hung out, had a few drinks, and then stumbled upon my new pet! My brother and Stephanie had a mildly neglected Chinchilla, that had recently been slobbered on and chased around by, my brothers English Bull Dog, Bentley. It was an accident of course but never the less the poor little guy was suffering. He was also in a room that was pushing the 90-95 degree range. This poor Chinchilla was TRA-MA-TIZED and covered in soot and dog spit! So Eric and I picked up the cage and walked out the front door!

Sunday morning we scooted off to our favorite pet store (the one where Eric nearly got his finger lopped off by a macaw). After a few minutes of pet couseling & a $55.00 bill, we went home to fix our little Chinchilla's home. Did you know they take dust baths? You wouldn't' believe it but it really works! And they freak out! They hope and jump and roll around in dust. It's so neat! So I named him. I don't know if my brother's girlfriend has already named him but I renamed him for now. Willy. Willy the Chinchilly.

I feel bad for Stephanie that I took her pet but I think all in all Willy is glad to be away from Bentley and that hot ass room. I have taken pictures of him and his new abode and I will post them soon.

Today is my 8th year anniversary. I have officially lived in DC for 8 years straight. For a military brat that is REALLY GOOD. Prior to this stint I hadn't lived anywhere for more then about 2 and a half years. I wasn't sure I'd like to stay in one place this long. And I've definitely contemplated moving -- but I kind of like having my roots planted somewhere.

YAY Redskins!!

P.S. -- I know what you mean about the moving around. We were pretty lucky, but the longest I've ever lived anywhere was Biloxi, Mississippi for 10 years. Virginia, as a state, runs a close second but I moved to California to lose any chance of breaking my record

How does Lady like sharing her digs? I hope she is not like Casey-she loves to torture rodents then eat them.

You have to admit the reason they lost is because of that rookie Bucs quarterback... he choked at the end. I may live out in West, but I'm still a Tampa Bay fan.

You're definitely in a good area to put down roots!

Cory - I didn't think that Simms was doing too bad, honestly. He passed for a lot more yards than Brunell did. Simms screwed up there at the end with that interception, but the Redskins have a tough defense so there's really no guarantee they would have scored even if they hadn't lost the ball.

Either way, good game. Didn't you used to work at that stadium? Looks awesome

Lady loves Willy! She, Eric and Willy all took a nap on the couch today and listened to Stern. They were in a triple spoon -- SO CUTE!

Marissa & Cory -- I have no idea what either of you are talking about. I'm just a girl who was once the girlfriend of a quarter back who knows very little about the lingo of football -- but whatever you both said I'm sure you're right! My football lingo consist of "downs" (and I know you need 4 of them to do something) "touchdown" and I like those when we make them "field goal" which alwasy confuses me because it just NEVER actually looks like it's going between the two pipes -- but most of the time it does -- and "FUMBLE" which sounds like it's definition -- and that's nice. Oh oh and I do know "interception" -- but I only like that phrase when accompanied by a "Yesssssss!" not a "FUCK, YOU IDIOT!"

Jessie -

I am laughing my ass off right now. Hilarious! And in this case, the interception that I spoke of was followed by a "YESSSS!!!" (for the Skins, anyway).
