Not paying attention to detail: Part II

Today at lunch, after my scary airplane incident, I thought I'd cool my brain off by going to the mall to pick out a nice outfit to wear to the holiday party Eric and I are going to tomorrow night. I get in my car and fly down the highway toward Springfield Mall. Springfield mall - where there are jaw dropping exit ramps, new traffic patters, and smooth, untouched pavement -- all in attempt to ease the rush-hour-traffic-hell that is the DC Metropolitan Area. It's your basic impressive face-lift of roadways.

Back to me -- So I took the exit to 95 south, as I have for 8 years, and to my left I see Springfield mall pass by.... This new amazing exit ramp bypasses the F'g mall! What?! Well how the Fuck are you supposed to get there then? No time for quandaries, no, I must shop. With no other choice, I drove 10 miles out of my way to turn around. I finally made it, found a few cute outfits that make my butt look nice, and prance my happy ass back to the car for the return trip; which WILL BE EASIER for I'll be LEAVING the Springfield interchange project and going toward familiar territory.

I drive down the beltway towards the Woodrow Wilson bridge. The bridge, that is PAST my exit, and that they've been working on for a few years now. Suddenly, and without warning, I find myself going OVER the bridge when I wanted to get off just before the bridge. What happened you ask? There were no exits. THEY'VE MOVED MY EXITS! My exits have been picked up and moved back 3 miles. I kid you not. I hate to break it to you America but I wasn't looking for my exits 3 miles ago! I was looking for them here. Here. BEFORE the bridge.

Exasperated, I called Eric and we both discussed taking a day off of work and literally just driving around, back and forth, to and fro, & in circles to refamiliarize ourselves with the common exits of Northern Virginia. You'd think after driving to and from Springfield Mall for the past 8 years -- I'd not spend more time lost on the road, and turning around, the I would picking out a cute holiday sweater of my dreams!

Oh god, I hate to laugh but that mixing bowl shit sucks worse than before! I have to drive all around it now since I will NOT go on those tall ass "fly over" ramps. No f'ing way.

GOSH!!! I LOVE THAT MALL!!! I haven't been there in a few years, but I knew they were messing up the road pattern!!! YIKES! Let me know how you get there, cause the next time I'm in those parts, I'd love to shop there again!!!

I remember that it was hard to find that ramp to get in there BEFORE, now you mean it's even WORSE??? You practically get NAILED from the right with the other cars coming off the main ramp from that Franconia exit(if I remember correctly), then trying to get in that way was hard then!

The last time I went there was in 1998, so it's been awhile.

How is the route to Tyson's Corner and Potomac Mills outlets? Is it just as painful??? ;P
