Class of 96'

So here's the thing. My 10 year class reunion is supposed to be coming up this summer. I'm quite unsure what I should do.

To go or not to go.

Why, you ask?

Some of the people who might be there I don't want to see.
Some of the people who might be there I'd love to see but don't want to see the others.
Some of the people who might be there I'd love to see, but I don't want them to see me.
Some of the people I want to see there - I KNOW aren't going.
Some of the people I know aren't going I like the best anyway -- so is it worth it to go at all?
My vision of buying a plane ticket to California has never included Lompoc (Pronounced Lom-poke..we're weird about that).
Maybe curiosity did kill the cat.....
I'm fucking scared.....

Now once upon a time I had a plan with Colin to go to the reunion. This was back when 2006 seemed eons away and my skin was still taut. He was going to be date to the reunion, we were going to ride in a limo, have a few drinks, have a good time and make a big entrance (well I don't make big entrances -- but Colin is hard to keep control of so I'll probably wait in the limo until the coast was clear and then sneak in...unnoticed) But now as it turns out I haven't seen Colin since graduation day, 1996, and as much as I loved his bald head, he's now an afro sporting punk-band singer who I never talk to unless it involves hours and hours worth of drinking before hand.

Keelee -- I need Keelee to go with me. She's tall, my size, and fun. I could hide behind her all night until I felt comfortable and then burst out once I'm drunk. But the thing is Keelee isn't sure she'll be able to go...school and whatnot. So it's all up in the air.....

I'm just not sure...to go or not to go....(Courtney you can't comment as I already know your stance.)

OMG, you are too funny, Jessie!!!

This is messed up, but with my high school, these idiots had a five year reunion, but not a 10 year reunion!!! HELLO???? Five years is not long enough to get yourself established from high school. I wasn't even in the states when they decided to have it!!!! But I agree, the people I wanted to see probably wouldn't have gone. That would have been the majority of the class, but the other ones were bad enough to make an even BIGGER crowd!!!

In two more years, it'll be TWENTY YEARS that I've been out of high school. WOW!!!!! I have to admit, I look way better now than I ever have!!!!

And Jessie, you are so stinking hard on yourself!!!!! You're gorgeous! How could any of those other girls compare???? Keelee's a cutie, too! She's so stylish! I check out her blog once in awhile.

Thanks for your encouragement Jacq! It's not so much that I don't want to go b/c I'm too fat or look damaged -- but a lot of the people that went to our high school just weren't nice people. Really. A lot of them hated me (including Keelee) and the others just ....well...were mean to me.

I'd hope that we'd all get over ourselves and be nice as adults -- but rumor has it some haven't.

I wonder if those people can smell fear?

I think High School Reunions are the type of things that if you didn't go you would regret. You can always go, and if you hate it, skip out on the rest and take Eric to the vinyards or to the beach. There is so much beautiful stuff in that area that you would have tons of stuff to do if you didn't like the Reunion Scene.

I think you're right and I think I'm going. I am not bringing Eric though. I'm sure he doesn't want to waste his vacation days hanging out in a town like Lompoc and not knowing a soul!

You should go -- it will remind you of how much better you are than those assholes that the feel the need to be childish and immature even after 10 years have passed. They are kind of people that never progressed past being popular when they were 17 and probably still categorize the best moments of their lives in terms of homecoming and prom. SCREW THEM!! :)

Plus, you only have to hang out with the people that you want to and aren't required to go to every single event. Go and have fun!

My 10 year reuniuon was in 2001 in Virginia. I didn't go. Mainly because the people who were my friends at that school I love and keep in touch with and see whenever I can, so I didn't need the reunion for that. But was I curious about those I remembered? Hell YEAH! I'm the queen of finding people on the internet, remember? I don't regret not going, but I'm curious about how it would have been...Go, make a cameo appearance. If it sucks, leave.

P.S. Can't remember if I ever mentioned it but we lived in Lompoc when I was a little kid.

Oh, those bitches will be so JEALOUS of you and Keelee! Why would anyone be MEAN to YOU????

I'm with Jess, Marissa and Kaycee on this one, for sure. If it blows, just leave. I often wonder if I'd subject Chuck to a reunion, uh, if we ever did have one.

Jess is right. She is very famous for keeping in touch! We have all these years. Love ya, girl!

I could be changing my mind, since there seems to be a lot of people on Myspace going now. Maybe I will...

Hey there, its been a while since I last visited your site. My 20 year reunion is coming up 2007. I went to my 5 year and skipped my 10 and 15. I'm definately going to my 20 year.

Your reunion is way the heck out in California...? if you can take some time to enjoy sites while there, then go for it, if you can't then I wonder if it is really worth it. :]

Is there anything listed on "Classmates.com" for the reunion, at least then you can get a good idea of who will be attending.
