The Egg
Last night Eric and I did some much needed grocery shopping. You know the essentials -- milk, eggs, cereal, coffee, pickles...etc. We did the usual -- pull up in front of the condo complex to unload the groceries before parking the car. On the second trip to the car, I realized that we'd accidentally smashed an egg somehow and this egg was daring to drip on the inside of Eric's car (bad bad bad!). In a panic I asked, "Oh my God! What do we do now?!" to which he replied, "Here just do this...." and tossed the egg over his shoulder, in the direction of some nearby bushes lining the condo building. As if on the TV screen - Eric and I turned in sudden fright and watched as the egg - in slow motion - landed on the neighbors window. SPLAT! Oh my -- this was a sticky situation indeed! At first we laughed and booked it - thinking it best to flee the scene. Half way to the house Eric realized that his car was parked out front and would no doubt incriminate him so best to move it - quickly. The little boy whose bedroom window we'd hit was glaring out of the window to search for the culprit and Eric was busted. He was forced to knock on the neighbors door and explain why he'd egged their home, and how it really was an accident, and remind them not to be startled when he comes over to clean up the mess......
