Successful Christmas party

I've recovered from sucking up the tree skirt in to the vacuum cleaner last Friday. The vacuum cleaner did not. Basically the dangly things that hang off the edge of the tree skirt got sucked up in the machine. I just ripped the rest of that crap off and you'd never know the difference.

Liz arrived only 30 minutes late and we had fun starting the moment she stepped off the plane. I am ashamed to say that I do not have many pictures of our trip. We have a few that I will post over the weekend, but they're not great.

The Christmas party/condo reopening that Eric and I hosted on Saturday night was a hit. We had a keg, egg nog station, wine station, mulled wine station, & a liquor station. I loaded the table up with lots of tasty apps -- as promised. I had to improvise on the mistle toe a tad. They "didn't get any in" at Michaels so I asked the sales lady at the store to describe it to me and I made my very own. Pictures will be posted of this piece of art come the weekend.

The secret Santa gift exchange didn't go so well. No. It didn't. There were no-show Santas, forget the gift Santa's, and "I didn't look to see who I had" Santa's. The only ones prepared were myself and Francis. So we exchanged. I had a few "emergency" gifts set aside in case one or two people fucked up and forgot -- but not the whole damn crowd!!! I'm thinking we're not the secret Santa kind of group.

I'm ALMOST done with my Christmas shopping, damn it!!! I spent many hours last night in traffic trying to get the last of my gifts picked up. I have a few other things to get -- but then I'm DONE! DONE! I started out this years shopping with a bang. I had most of it done online and before the November month end. It was the few remaining items I had to get, in person, that I slacked on. With school, the party, etc. I just didn't have the time to go out and shop in the stores. Also the placement of Christmas this year was a problem for me. I really need Christmas day to fall on a week day. Thursdays and Fridays are best. For some reason when it's put out there on a Sunday -- I tend to procrastinate. Why? I don't know.

Jansen -- You're the worst secret Santa on the planet!!! Just kidding....but I was bummed you didn't show!

Jansen,

Don't worry about it!!!

My sister didn't show. Holly forgot her gift. John didn't even know who he was giving one too. Jenny Gibbson had a family emergancy and couldn't come....it was just not a successful gift exchange all around. Bummer about your lazy nap!
