The Winner!

We went with #4 -- but man was that hard! I just put the order in for our Christmas card and I can't wait to see them when they get back.

Jingle Bells

Eric and I went to my parents house last night to celebrate my Sister and Father's birthday but also to take our first family Christmas photo. I have really been wanting to cheese it up this year and send out a picture card/Christmas card of Eric, Lady and I. Here are some of the shots we're deciding on. Which one is better?

Party Success

Happy Birthday Deannie!

The Birthday party for my friend Deannie last night was a success. I took the day off from work to clean, prepare foods, rent a helium tank, and tie ribbons to 45 balloons. (She only turned 37 though...) The cake had a picture of her as a bridesmaid back in the 80's. I can't seem to find the copy I'm looking for so I can't post it now but it's a good one!

Then I presented her with my art. The gift that Eric and I handmade. She was thrilled! Check out the masterpiece...

B is for Bunk!

Here's the thing:

When I was in Junior High/High School and it was report card "season" I would spit at and mock the sappy kids who would cry down the hallways because they had to take home a report card that actually reflected a fucking "B" grade. Usually it was ONE STINKIN "B" in an entire column of "A"s that they were whining about. Here I was, barely floating a "C" -- if not completely failing -- and they're CRYING over a fucking "B"? My parents would have bought me a BMW and a pet monkey if I'd brought home even a pair of Bs in a semester.

Today, 10 years after I've graduated from Highschool, I received a B on my 2nd History Test. A test I felt FOR SURE I was going to get an "A" on; CONFIDENT of my knowledge of the Magna Carta and John Locke's theories. Today I had to call my Dad and sadly report a "B" test grade and I now want to publicly and bloggically apologize to all those kids who whimpered down the hallways of my schools. I too am sad about my "B". I too find myself contemplating the question, "Can I still get an over all "A" in this class?"

B is for Bunk!

Eric's Ebay Posting

Please go here and read the last paragraph in the item description.

P.S. I'm encouraging you all to bid!

My Place

I did a survey, sent by Jess, and the first question was this:

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE?

Here is my answer:

A log cabin -- on a beach in the ski mountains of the Mid west where it's always 80 degrees.

After reading it 10 times I have decided I'm really really moving there!

All About Me...

So yesterday I totally called out my sister on my blog. I did. I got a lot of comments about it, and although it was fun, it might have been a tad unfair. I decided -- it's time to admit to one and all that I've not always been the voluptuous, nearing 30, vision of beauty that I am now.

I don't have any pictures quite as bad as that last one on the post I did of my sister..heeheehee...but I do have some doozies and bad picture bloopers - or ploopers...if you will.

Here I am, freshman year, in my Converse. The thing about this picture is what you can't see! I had a HUGE Hickey on the other side of my neck. I happened to walk in to the living room while Dad was testing out his new camera. "Hey Jess -- sit down and let me take a picture of you...." I very strategically sat with my neck facing the fire place. Lizzy can attest to this...

Here I am sophomore year. Where does the fashion no-no begin? High waist? Tapered legs? Thin belt? White belly exposure? Huh...

This is Easter at the beach house with the family. Holly looks normal in this picture - buzzed and consuming more. Me? What am I the Easter Slut?

Now beware foot fetish people!!! Here they are again. My lovely tootsies....this reveals my foot secret. I pick at my feet on the couch to keep them nice and orderly.

I think this is pretty bad. This is my worst I think. Would you even know that was me? Eric didn't. Rob looks pretty bad but who's the dork in the glasses and the snoopy PJs?

Sisters

I had a lot of bad dreams last night because I watched some stupid sad story on TLC and was going through old pictures. None of the dreams involved my sister though. Just the funny pictures. So I decided in an effort to make myself feel better, and to make fun of my sister, I'd scan post a few. Now, some of you may think this is mean, cruel, maybe even something she'd want to sue me over. That's fine. She won't. Sisters are the mere DEFINITION of "unconditional love".

To My Lovely Sister

A Poem by Jessica

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Oh Dear Kaycee
This blogs for you

Here we are all dolled up and looking our best. My surprise birthday party. Kaycee did her hair just for the event!

I think this was the 80s. I love head bands. This was back when Mom used to torture my sister by actually brushing her hair. "If you don't quit screaming when I brush your hair I'm going to CUT IT ALL OFF!"

This is a stylish pose in an AAFES brand vest worn smartly in 1989. This vest is complimented of course by the white tapered jeans and the low slung pony tail with classic "whispies" on the side of the head.

Ah...yes....the mirrored homecoming dress with matching kicks! Beam me up Scotty!

This one just hurts me. And Kaycee, you can blame Eric for this one. He insisted that it go up. I really believe this was the beginning to a magical look for you!

So much

I have so much to post - sorry guys. I'll title each paragraph so you can scan for the section you may have interest in.

PICTURES OF MY TRIP TO LIVERMORE, CA

Here is the whole crew! Here we are at dinner after a long day of wine tasting for the girls.

In this picture Cory has successfully managed to catch the 2nd ugliest picture of me ever. The photo shoot pictures are the first. This is definitely second. What you don't know about this picture is that I always do this. I always stick my tonge out at people I've just met. It's a build up to my big first impression.

Isn't she cute!? Natalie is the sweetest, quietest, whispering, vegen that I just want to pick up and squeeze!

Here is a picture of Cory and I on Monday night before I left. I just woke up from a nap (mid horror movie) so that's why you can see my bra, I look stoned, and my hair is wired. Cory looks good though, eh?

This is the saddest picture of them all. It's of Natalie crying on the floor after I left Courtney's house on Monday night. She knew it could be months, even years, before we'd get to take shots together again -- and she was devastated. Don't worry Natalie (!) you'll forever be my shot buddy!

THE CLOSET ORGANIZER

So Eric and I picked up, paid for, and installed our new closet organizer. We bought it at The Container Store for a whoppin $650.00!! Yes, I know, it's a lot of money. My thought was that it's great! You take the measurements of your closet, the store creates a blueprint of how you can utilize all the space in your closet based on it's size and how you use it, and then they sell you all the parts to create your dream organizer. There's just one thing I didn't take in to account. Eric. See really this entire closet project was an insult to my crafty boyfriend who just got done reconstructing our entire condo post-flood. Not to mention he engineered the gift I'm giving Deannie for her birthday. Eric could have bought all that stuff at Home Depot, designed a lovely organized closet system and installed it for under $300. See the quality of the closet shelving itself isn't "all that". You're paying $650.00 for someone to chart out your closet and then have all the pieces there ready for you to go. Oh and the computer program they have so you the buyer can visualize what you're buying. I should have thought about that before. So Eric installed this closet organizer -- and we agreed we'd not do that again. When we buy a house he's designing & installing all our closet organizers.

HISTORY 161

Yesterday was my 2nd History test of the Semester. I got an A- on the first one and I'm aiming for an A+. The teacher lists the top 3 grades on the board and I want my name up there. I'm fairly sure I got an A on my test -- but I'm not sure how good of an A I got. I cannot wait until next week to find out!! It was a lot of memorization and I think if I messed up it was in describing the rights that the Magna Carta, signed in 1215 by King John, provided to us.

THE WEEKEND

This weekend I'm playing Mary Popkins, umbrella and all. It's raining here and is supposed to do so all weekend. I'm babysitting for 2 kids for the entire weekend. Their parents are going away on a weekend of romance and bliss. This is not my first time doing a weekend baby-sitting job. Remember I had those teenagers a few months back. I've also baby-sat for a severely handicapped girl during one week of my first attempt of college. This will probably be somewhere in the middle. These kids are 5 and 9 -- so not as hard as a 180 14 year old in a wheel chair wearing diapers -- but not getting me a cup of Starbucks on the way back from school, either. We were supposed to go on a hay ride tomorrow at Oxen Hill Farm but if it's going to rain we're going to have to catch a movie instead or carve pumpkins. I'm trying to keep my creativity level up. I want to show these kids some fun!

THE CONDO

Last night after my test I came home to clean & organize. DO YOU KNOW WHAT BREAD AND LETTUCE LOOK LIKE IF YOU LEAVE THEM IN YOUR HOME WHILE YOU'RE RENOVATING YOUR HOUSE FOR A MONTH AND A HALF? G.R.O.S.S.! It was the worlds biggest 2nd grade science project ever! Lots and lots of moldy bread. Ick! Now we have no food. Even the Oreo's were stale...not that I ate one of course....too many carbs.....

TEETH

I'm going to try whitening my teeth with the over the counter stuff. I have one fake tooth in the front that they matched in color to the rest of my teeth back in 1996 -- and I know I can't technically bleach that one but you'd think after 9 years of smoking and drinking coffee that my fake tooth would look different in color, right? But it doesn't.

MY COUSINS WEDDING

I'm going to post pictures of my cousin's wedding/reception when I get them from my family. My camera is about as worthless as a day without wine -- so I'm at the mercy of my family members. IF ANY OF YOU ARE OUT THERE, AND YOU'RE HOLDING CAPTIVE MY PICTURES, SEND THEM.

I'm Home!

I'm home! I'm both back in Virginia after a lovely vacation to California and back in my condo!! Eric and I have been sleeping in our own beds now for 2 nights and let me tell ya - it's FAB-U-LOUS!!!

California was great! I got to hug and meet Cory and Natalie. They are just as I suspected -- cute and nice! I also got to act like a teenager again with my friend Serena and it didn't kill me! Phew!

Sunday was the best day of my life I think. Stacey and Heather picked me up at my hotel in Oakland and took me wine tasting. We then headed off to our much anticipated spa treatments (facial and massage) but before we began our treatments -- we sat and giggled in the steam room with a glass of champagne. FANCY!! I had a blast!

My Renter is driving me NUTZ! About once a week he emails me with concerns about my cat. I have never ever had a problem with my cat. Yes - she is a manipulating, needy, high maintenance feline. But who's cat isn't? This Renter is an Analyst for the government and on his off time it seems he analyzes the mood and behavior of my cat. Just yesterday he tells me that the wet food I give her in a can, that is meant for a TREAT ONLY, doesn't seem to suit her fancy anymore and asked, have I tried another brand? NO! I love my cat but treats are treats so I get them on sale. AND she's never had a problem with them before! She's a pet not a princess for shit sake! How can I make him stop? I hate to say it but I'd like to find Dinah a home to go to permanently. I just can't give her to a stranger. Does anyone love cats and want mine? I'm willing to pay for shipping. I don't care if you think I'm an animal hater.

I'm here

So I made it! I'm in California! After a 5 hour flight on Jet Blue, on which I got to watch hours and hours of Law and Order, I arrived. I then BARTed to Walnut Creek and got in at 8:30 California time which translated to 11:30 Virginia time - but I hung in there. I had a lovely steak here at the hotel surrounded by oodles of family and also drank what seemed like a never ending supply of wine. Surprisingly I'm doing well today. Well enough to do my homework that is. 2nd History test is next Thursday so I had to make sure I got my stuff done before I attend the wedding/reception tonight.

Anywho - just thought I'd let you know I'm here. I'm going to sneak off and get my nails done, alone. I'm not sure how I'll accomplish that when I have a handful of aunts trying to tell me what to do but I'm thinking of wearing sunglasses and a scarf to get through the hotel lobby unnoticed. Wish me luck.

Cheers!

Who am I?

Remember way back in the beginning of time when I said I had pictures taken for a photo shoot at my hair salon? Well my hair dresser took forever and a day to send the pictures to me AND NOW I KNOW WHY! I look terrible! I don't even look like me! I'm not joking. Lets do a litte compare and contrast. Please, remember, I don't know this girl (below)and also know that I didn't do my own make up....

Scroll cautiously...

The picture below is me AFTER the photo shoot, at home. Eric took this one. Do these even look like the same people?

Compare and Contrast Part Doo

Here's another doo-zee from the photo shoot! What? I don't even know me. Why does my face look bumpy and my cheeks look saggy?! I had NOT ONE ZIT that day. NOT ONE!
Holy mother of God, Holly, please explain!?

Below is a picture of the Jessica we all know and love. This (picture B)was taken not long after the above (picture A). Do I look as vile and gross in this candid wedding picture as I do in the "professional shot"?

Compare and Contrast III

Ok one more......

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a picture of me almost exactly one year ago. As you can see -- this is just NOT me (above)!

California Here I come!

I am almost done with my art project. I have to wait 72 hours to complete one part of it and so I plan on taking care of that when I return from CALIFORNIA. Eric is going to need to do a few minor adjustments -- and then BINGO -- it's all set and ready to be revealed to the birthday girl! If you want to see pictures of the 90% done project shoot me an email.

Friday I leave on a Jet Blue flight to Oakland for a family function and friend reunion. I can't wait to see my favorite cousins, aunts, and uncles. It will be a grand event. There is just nothing like a bunch of bossy adults telling their children, who are now adults, what to do all weekend. Add some alcohol and pot and BAM we have family bliss!

Sunday I'm heading south to Livermore to hang with Courtney & gang. It will be the first time I meet Cory and Natalie and about as close to a ten year class reunion as I care to come. I can't wait to see everyone. My only hope is that the movies on the airplane are good and that I find my way on the BART to the hotel at midnight on Friday. I land late but I'm fairly confident that I will survive. I like adventure.

The condo is looking great! Tile done in the bathroom. The vanity and the toilet are installed but not quite working yet. There needs to be a few minor adjustments. Next is the shower doors, carpet, and then we're at home! I am ready and I know Eric is even more anxious then I. I can see that not being in his place is starting to wear really thin on him. He's becoming like a volcano that is ready to erupt at any minute. Just don't erupt all over the new carpet babe!

My New Art

I am so excited about my new crafting/art project that I couldn't sleep last night. I was tossing and turning dreaming out the steps I have to take to complete this project. I want to tell you all about it but it’s a birthday present for a friend and I’m afraid she’ll read my blog and find out. Her party is October 28th and I’m presenting it to her then. It’s quite a big item and Eric had to help me make it. I should be close to finished tonight and then I’m going to take TONS of pictures. As with Holly’s bridal shower invites – I don’t want to give my baby away!

I bought a $30 toolbox at Home Depot yesterday. I have 4 bags of crafting stuff that I need to combine in to one neat and orderly container. This tool box has fun drawers and compartments for me to keep all my safety pins, buttons, scissors, feathers, etc. It should store nicely in our new mega organized closet.

This weekend Eric finished laying the tile in the bathroom. Tonight he'll do the grout and then soon after that we get in to the carpet!! Once the carpet and bathroom are done then we can move back in. I have a feeling the timing is going to be a little off. Next weekend I’m flying out to San Fran to see my cousin wed (and also see Cory, Courtney, Natlie and Bri) and so I’ll be unable to help him move back in to the house. I’m not sure if that means he’ll wait until I get back or if he’ll move us in while I’m gone? Either way we should be sleeping in our own bed by next week.

It’s finally getting cold here and I need my winter/fall clothes which are currently being stored in my parents basement until we move back in to the house. I wore a coat to work today, which I had to dig out of the dusty condo, for the first time this year. Although I can’t stand the winter – it is nice to have the fall. The leaves are pretty and it makes me want to drink apple cider by the fireplace. Eric’s Mom just decorated the house for the Halloween holiday so our bathroom has a ghost hand towel and there are little knick-knacks that light up and say, “BOO!” all over the house. Very cute. I could even drink my morning coffee out of a pumpkin shaped coffee mug if I wanted!

Updates on my exciting new project soon! If you’re really interested you can email me and I’ll send you a picture of it. Hint: It’s big and I’ve never done one before!!

It's Raining it's pouring

It's raining here. 73 and raining. I don't mind it so much. We haven't had rain in so long that it's kind of nice but it's making me feel lazy. Lazy like I want to go rent a movie and drink a bottle of wine in my bedroom, alone. I feel like GOING to a movie but there is nothing good on this week. I want a good chick flick to hunker down to. I think I'm going to rent a few instead.

This just in: PLANS HAVE CHANGED.

Deannie asked me in an e-mail to meet her and Dean out for happy hour tonight.....

Me: I think I'm going to pass on HH and go home and rent a movie. I want to drink my bottle of Chardonnay that Holly gave me for my bday and watch a DVD in bed with my jammies and Lady. I think it's the rain that is making me somber. I hope you stay dry tomorrow.. (She's volunteering at the animal shelter tomorrow)

The Brat, Deannie:
BOO HISS!! YOU ARE THE JERK!! You see Holly 500 times a week and NEVER do anything with me. You gave me a lousy hour for dinner on Tuesday, you blew me off for tomorrow( I was supposed to go to the animal shelter thing) AND now you can't even go to HH with me!! FINE-I see how it is-your stupid movies are more important than me!! At least Jenny (low-blow - x-psycho friend from the past) never passed up a HH with me!!

Maybe I will pass on HH too and use your gift certificate (that she gave me for my birthday) to get a massage!!

I hope you enjoy your stupid wine (like you aren't going to get enough tomorrow) Speaking of tomorrow, I HOPE YOU GET SOAKED!! (This is just cruel)

Me: On the other hand how about we get some alcohol and hang out at YOUR place instead of going to a bar? That way we can both have our ways. Sound good, brat?

Brat: OK!! :-)

Sometimes in even friendship-relationships one must compromise. Especially with those in the upper rung of the friendship pyramid. In the words of Maroon 5: "It's not always rainbows and butterflies it's compromise that moves us along..."

I just finished The Secret Life Of Bees and liked it. I wasn't THRILLED with it but not because of the lack of entertainment -- I just read it over such a long period of time that I never felt overly consumed by it. Today I started Hoping for Hope which my sweet boyfriend Eric bought me at a dollar store this summer. It's about a woman in her late 40s who thinks she is beginning menopause but finds out she's really pregnant. I'll let you know whether it was worth every one of Eric's pennies!

This weekend is supposed to be fun. Tonight I'm not sure what the plan is but tomorrow I'm off to a wine festival in Fredericksburg. It's a family affair with Holly, Curt and the little one and then we're dragging our friend Carrie and her little one too. We've rented a mini-van for the occasion. I'm anticipating a splendid affair! Then tomorrow night I'm going to a kegger. At 28 those are so few and far between it seems..... Sunday Eric and I are working on the condo all day, preparing for the carpet installation on MONDAY!! Woo-hoo!

Jimmy Neutron gave me a pamphlet for his gay choir season. I'm thinking about taking Mom to see one of their shows. It looks fun and they're supposed to be great! I love Jimmy.

I need shirts. I've been wearing the same 3 shirts to work for the last month and I think people are starting to catch on. It's bad enough that I can't find my skinny jeans, cuz they're buried at the house, but the shirt situation is just sad. I don't feel good wearing the same shirts over and over.

Lizzy has mono. I called her last night because I hadn't heard a peep from her in a few days. Thank your lucky stars that germs can't be passed through the internet because she sounds like shit. I am heading out shortly to create a get well basket. Her Tonsils are blocking her airways and she sounds all puffy on the inside. Ick. I want to fly there to wash her sheets and administer her tylenol. Her boyfriend is there but he's only 21 or something and is probably watching Sesame Street and not paying attention to her fever.

Yesterday Holly and I watched the season premier of Related. It was so good! I am glad she has Tivo so I can watch it every week now! If you like girlie movies you'll like this show. I'm totally bummed though because I missed the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance, which sucks! I totally spaced and didn't even realize it!

Praise the Lord it's almost Figgidy Friday!!

Zapper..

Yesterday I had my 4th and final zapping appointment. Well at least for now. If I notice hair growth in the next 6 to 8 weeks I am supposed to go back for a touch up zap. I'm scared though because yesterdays treatment HURT. The ...what would you call her....the hair wizard...used a new machine on me yesterday. This new machine is basically an upgrade from the old machine and allows the hair wizard to adjust the intensity of the zap for each patient. She told me at the start of my appointment that she was going to do "two passes" which translates in to two zaps per spot. The first zapping round would be more "intense because it will go deeper in to the follicle" and then second would be less intense. My body was jerking on the table like I was having a seizure. I was TRYING not to whimper but she'd catch my Lilly in a spot that felt like she was sending shock waves through my body and I'd have to scream a little. It was such a quick deep pain that it made my heart race and my adrenaline flow. I'm scared to go back again.

Last night Eric's family sat around and watched a scary movie. I'm not much for scary movies. I usually have to be forced in to them or guilted. They give me bad dreams and I sweat through every minute of them. I just see no point in putting myself through that kind of torture.

Last time Eric and I rented a movie at Blockbuster I got to pick the movie so I went with that Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher movie. It was cute but Eric wasn't really in to it and fell asleep. This time it was Eric's turn to pick and so he picks the movie that his sister just got done describing to us as the scariest movie she's ever seen in the theater. Lovely. Out of the kindness of my heart I agreed to gather round and watch the movie with the family. I got about 30 minutes in to the flick when out popped this scary person and I jumped, screamed really loud, and covered my face in the blanket. Eric's Mom was laughing at me and so at that point I decided since I was the only one scared in the room it might be best for me to retire and go read, "The Secret Life of Bees" in my room. No point in being the ONLY one screaming in the dark - right?

I did have bad dreams but I can't remember what they are now. I got up at about 2:30am to pee and try and clear my mind and it must have worked b/c now I can't recall what they were about. I want to say it was about me going to jail or something.....

I hate scary movies!

I have so much to say.....

Sorry -- I have a lot to say today. I've already posted twice this morning and there's more! I'm just so behind in my blog that I am about ready to explode. FIRST I want to show you another picture. This one my Mom sent me and I can't decide if it's cute or gross. What do you think? (Jansen...it's ok...go ahead and comment...don't be scared...)

THE CONDO:

I've been asked to update on the condo/flood. The place is looking better. We're still living with Eric's parents because we still don't have carpet or a working bathroom. The walls are all up and painted though, which is a HUGE step. We went to The Container Store the other day to pick out and design a closet organizer. I can't wait to get that installed. It does cost and arm and a leg to design your own closet organizer but it's well worth it. You can literally utilize ever inch of your closet. Anyway...next will be the carpet instillation. That has to go in before we put in the new marble bathroom floors.

The bathroom is going to be HOT. It's essentially going to be an all new bathroom. Our vanity fell apart in the flood so Eric bought a new cherry wood one with a black marble top. We decided to do marble floors, new paint (it's a green and I picked it out) and then of course new towel racks, shower doors, etc. I can't wit until it's finished. It's going to be really neat!

Once the condo is all done we're going to have a reopening party. If you live in the area and you are in to great looking bathrooms you should come by.

I'm looking forward to having all my stuff back and being able to sleep in our bed. I love staying at Eric's parents house, and I will miss it, but I miss my stuff. I can't find my skinny jeans so all my clothes are now out of season and too big. I miss our big shower/bath. I miss the TV in our bedroom. I miss our desktop computer with internet. I miss our closet. I just miss home.

October Recipe

I think I'm going to post a recipe every month. A themed recipe. I don't cook so you guys will have to try my recipe and let me know how it goes. This recipe I got from our Company News letter and thought it looked neat!

Recipe of the Month—Enjoy!

This is us getting down at the reception. We had a lot of fun.

Thinner

It's been one month and one week since my doctor put me on the no/low carb diet. Since then I've lost 16 pounds. (166 lbs-16 lbs= 150lbs) That's 3.2per week which is right about what he said I should be loosing. 2lbs a week or so. So HOPEFULLY this time next month I'll be what he said I should be: 140 lbs. These are some facts I think you should know:

1. I'm not starving, finding it hard to eat, or consuming small amounts of food.
2. I am still able to drink wine and I allow myself some of the things that Dr. Atkins suggests you not eat: corn, beans, and the rest of the veggies in the veggie family
3. I did cheat at Holly's on Friday and had 4 large scoops of chocolate ice cream and I had a nibble of some Cosi bread this weekend. Oh and I had a table spoon of hashbrowns.
4. I love this "way of life" and I don't think it's nearly as hard as it was when I was doing the Atkins diet.
5. I've become an iced tea addict
6. I like the fact that I can sit and eat a whole chicken with a wedge of brie, and aside from the mean constipation, MY BODY CAN TAKE IT!
7. I don't fit in to my clothes anymore. =)
8. I weigh less then Eric which is just RARE
9. The things that are important to me: brie, wine, and Eric are still edible.
10. I got an A- on my history test

So even though this diet is freaking Liz out, and I've been spending lots of money at Boston Market, I'm happy & thin. I'm thinking in November I'm going to be the hottest ever and forced to wear a bikini, even in the dead of winter, just to show the world how small my ass has gotten.

When I sit on the pot now my thighs don't flop over the side of the seat. When I bend over naked to dry my hair I can see between my legs. When I sit down in the car -- my belly button ring doesn't get lost in the black hole. IT'S GREAT! I should have done before and after pictures....

Fancy Schmancy

One of Eric's childhood best friends got married over the weekend. We both were lucky enough to attend and it was SO FUN! The wedding itself was a little boring -- just because it was in church and there was a lot of: if you didn't get married in a church with Jesus up your butt then you're not really married and you don't have a real marriage and you suck..... which we could have lived without but the dresses were pretty, the flowers were stunning, and the kiss was cute. My favorite? The reception. It was jaw dropping.

The reception was held at The Willard which if you're not from this area, and you don't know what The Willard is, it's FABULOUS...or in the words of one of the other guests, "It's THE hotel in DC!" This hotel is gorgeous, historical, and expensive. Just a little history: The Willard is where Martin Luther King finished writing his "I had a dream" speech & Abraham Lincoln lived there for a period of time. How cool is that!!??
